5 Things to Remember Before Biotechnology Exams

These are some of the top things you should do before a biotechnology exam:

  1. Be Calm, Practice Diagrams: Whether you like it or not, there are loads of diagrams and flow charts in biotechnology. And it can be hard to master some of those. But the point is this, even if you are bad at drawing and sketching stuff, there are lots of marks for diagrams in the biotechnology exam. Make a neat and clean diagram for a given question and you might be awarded with 3 marks. It can't be denied that diagrams make you three steps ahead of everyone.
  2. The Scientists Names And Their Achievements: When it comes to scientist’s names and their achievements, no-one is interested in the Names. But it can make a big difference. There are 1 marks questions in the examination. If you're asked to describe a process will a flow chart or a diagram, chances are a tiny 1 marks question will also be attached to the mammoth question. Generally in board exams there are few questions which will solely provide you 5 marks for writing a diagram. When you're writing down a process through a flow chart or a diagram, be sure to write the name(s) of the scientists involved in the process.
  3. Read The Summary Of Every Chapter: In the end of every chapter in the biotechnology book, just before starting the exercises, be sure to hover your eyes over the summary section. It will not only brush up your memory in less time, but also it is a good practice to review the chapter in one glance before you start solving the exercise. Furthermore, there are direct questions asked in the board exams which can be found nowhere but the summary portion itself.
  4. The Flow-Charts: Flow-charts are the marks grabbers in the biotechnology exam. A large chunk of marks can be scored from the flow charts itself. A neat and clean flow chart will not only help you remember the particular procedure but it is also a treat for the eyes of the examiner who looks for to-the-point answers.
  5. Solve Questions From Previous Years / Give Mock Tests: The primary reason and probably the most important reason of why most students are still can't achieve great marks in exam is for the reason that they do not practice a good amount of mock papers, or previous years papers. It is crucial to practice a fair amount of mock paper before the exam. In fact, those who are aiming for the top, they should spend the last one month of their exam only revising and practicing mock papers.

By following these tips, you can increase your chances of success in your biotechnology exam. Remember to stay calm and practice as much as possible. Good luck!
